Big shock to the common man , LPG cylinder becomes costlier
LPG Price Hike: There is big news for the common man. Domestic LPG cylinder has become expensive. The central government has decided to increase the price of LPG gas cylinders today (07 April). The price of the cylinder has been increased by Rs 50. Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has given this information .

LPG Price Hike -Domestic cooking gas becomes expensive ,
–The cylinders which were being provided to PMUY beneficiaries for Rs 500 till now, will now be available for Rs 550. At the same time, the price of cylinder gas provided to non-beneficiaries will increase from Rs 803 to Rs 853.
Last week, the prices of commercial LPG gas cylinders were reduced by Rs 41. The price revision impacted restaurants, hotels and other commercial establishments that use these cylinders for daily operations.
Earlier today, the government has also raised its excise duty on petrol and diesel, however, the hike would not be passed on to consumers and would be borne by oil marketing companies.
The excise duty on petrol was hiked to Rs 13 per litre and that on diesel to Rs 10 a litre, an official order showed. The increase in duties will “come into force on the 8th day of April 2025,” it said.
The Union Minister further said, “We review it every 2-3 weeks. So, the excise duty hike that you have seen will not be passed on to the consumers on petrol and diesel. The purpose of that excise duty hike is to compensate the oil marketing companies for the Rs 43,000 crore loss they have incurred on the gas side.”
