10th board exams to be held twice a year, new policy to be implemented from 2026

Matriculation exams will be held twice a year ,CBSE will now conduct the Class 10 board Matriculation exams to be held twice a year. This has been recommended by the Ministry of Education. This step was taken in an important meeting of the Ministry on Tuesday. A policy paper will also be prepared by the Ministry.

According to CBSE, this is a step taken by CBSE to reduce the exam pressure on students. From next year, it has been allowed to conduct exams twice a year. This rule will be implemented in 2026.

The first phase of the exam will be held in February-March. The second phase of the exam will be held in May. Students will have the option to appear for the exam twice. However, if they do not do well in the first exam, they can appear for the second exam.

The Class 10th Board Examination, which will be held twice a year, will be based on the entire syllabus. However, the practical examination or internal assessment of the relevant subject will be conducted only once.

The ministry has informed us that the views of students, teachers, and guardians will be taken regarding the policy. The views will be collected by March 9. It has been informed that the final decision will be taken after the views.
