Documents show that Shami’s sister, Shabina, was registered as a worker under the scheme and received money under the scheme from 2021 to 2024. However, there has been no response from Shami or his family members so far.

Although Shami’s sister and brother-in-law are millionaires, according to records, about 300 days’ wages have been registered online from 2021 to 2024. In return, about Rs 66,000 has also been deposited in her account. Those who have received wages are engineers or contractors. Shami’s brother-in-law , who is an MBBS student, is also listed as a worker in the documents.

Amroha District Magistrate Nidhi Gupta said that the case of cricketer Mohammed Shami’s sister and brother taking wages under the MGNREGA scheme will be investigated through the MGNREGA DC. We will recover money from them at every level, from the block level to the computer operator, and take strict action. Action will be taken only after investigation.
