Gujarat Titans (GT) pacer Mohammed Siraj put his name in contention for the purple cap with a four-wicket haul against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 6 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. There is no SRH bowler in the top 10. Mohammed Shami who picked two wickets in a losing cause made his place in the top 20. Shami has five wickets from as many games. He was economical against GT conceding 28 runs and dismissing opener Sai Sudharsan and Washington Sundar.

The 31-year-old now has 102 wickets in 97 matches an an average of just under 29 and an economy rate of 8.65. The pacer began his IPL journey with Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2017. He was picked for Rs 2.6 crore from a base price of Rs 20 lakh. Over the next several years, Siraj became an integral part of the franchise’s pace attack, taking 83 wickets in 87 matches at 31.44. In the IPL 2025 mega auction, Siraj was picked at at Rs 12.25 crore by Gujarat Titans, a steep rise from his base price of Rs 2 crore.
