Jharsuhguda has become the hottest city with a temperature of 37 degrees by 11:30 am. The temperature has been recorded at 36.4 degrees in Keonjhar, 36.2 degrees in Sambalpur, 35.4 degrees in Rourkela and 34.2 degrees in Hirakud. The state will experience heatwave for 2 more days. Today, yellow warning has been issued for 6 districts and orange warning for 4 districts due to heatwave.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted further escalation in temperatures in the coming weeks, raising concerns over student safety during school hours. Prolonged exposure to extreme heat can lead to dehydration, heat exhaustion, and other health hazards, prompting the authorities to review existing school schedules.
