In such a case, India has dispatched 15 tonnes of relief material to Myanmar as aid. The source has confirmed that the relief material was dispatched to Myanmar on an Indian Air Force C-in-J carrying an IAF C-130J aircraft from the Air Force Station Hindon, Hindon. Tents, sleeping bags, blankets, and prepared food, portable water purifiers, personal hygiene kits, solar lamps, generative electric sets, and essentials such as paracetamol, antibiotics, syringes, gloves, and bandages were sent as ‘Aid.’

Myanmar was shaken by many tremors of the earthquake. This has done a lot of damage, not just in Myanmar but also in Thailand. Following the earthquake, people are in panic. However, throughout the day, different tremors were showing the quaking activities in Myanmar; there was also one earthquake of 4.2 degrees that occurred at about 11:56 pm. The National Center for Seismology claimed that the depth of the earthquake was 10 kilometers. Aftershocks are also likely, given this shallow focal depth. Its epicenter was around the city of Mandalay in Myanmar.

The impact of the earthquake was also felt in Thailand:

Earlier in the day, a series of earthquakes hit Myanmar, including a powerful 7.7 on the Richter scale. Minutes after, the 6.4 and 4.9 tremors were recorded. The quake happened at 11:50 am (local time) on Friday. The powerful earthquake was also felt in Bangkok and Thailand. Hundreds of people left swaying buildings in Bangkok, as seen from eyewitnesses and from local media. Some social media posts displayed water flowing from swimming pools because of the quake’s severity.

In a previous post, PM Modi was concerned about the situation caused by the huge earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand on Friday. PM Modi stated that at this time, India is prepared to assist both nations in all ways possible. In a tweet on the social networking site X, Prime Minister Modi wrote, ‘I am worried about the situation unfolding after the earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand. I pray for the safety and happiness of all. India stands prepared to offer all assistance possible.’
