New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 43 runs in the third ODI. With the victory in the third match played at Bay Oval, the Kiwi team whitewashed Pakistan in the three-match ODI series.
Due to the rain, the match was reduced to 42-42 overs due to the wet outfield. In this match, Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan won the toss and chose to field. After this, New Zealand batted first and set a target of 265 runs, in response to which Pakistan’s team collapsed for 220 runs in 40 overs. Ben Sears bowled brilliantly for the Kiwi team and took 5 wickets.

Chasing 265 runs, Pakistan had a bad start. Imam ul Haq got injured after a direct throw hit his head and he had to retire hurt. After Imam was out, Usman Khan was able to score 12 runs in 17 balls. Babar Azam scored 50 runs. He was supported by Abdullah Shafique.
In the 17th over, when Pakistan’s score was 73 runs, its first wicket fell in the form of Abdullah. Abdullah scored 33 runs in 56 balls. Captain Rizwan scored 33 runs. After this, England’s Ben Sears Fifer devastated Pakistan’s batting line up and took 5 wickets for just 34 runs in 9 overs.
