PM Modi leaves for 2-day Saudi Arabia visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left for Saudi Arabia today, Tuesday. This is a two-day visit by PM Modi. During this time, he will also meet Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman. He will also address the people of the Indian community in the evening. He is someone who takes special interest in cultural activities and travel. This would be his first visit to Jeddah, though he has been to Saudi Arabia on two occasions before this. Will get more strength as a strategic partner with Saudi Arabia and India:
India and Saudi Arabia have cordial traditional relations, dating back to long-standing socio-cultural and commercial exchanges. The two nations are close strategic partners that collaborate in principal areas like politics, defence, security, commerce, energy, investment, health, education, technology, culture, and people-to-people exchanges. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the relation has grown closer in the last decade as a result of mounting investments, good defence coordination, and frequent high-level meetings.
As per the Ministry of External Affairs, the visit will be a platform to enhance the overall partnership and discuss regional and international issues of common interest. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri added that Modi’s visit will offer a chance to further enhance the strong strategic partnership between India and Saudi Arabia.

What issues can be discussed?
The Foreign Secretary said that discussions could take place on how to facilitate Saudi Arabia’s plan to invest USD 100 billion in India, as announced during the Crown Prince’s visit to India in 2019.
They had raised some issues, and we have worked on those issues very constructively. He said that a High-Level Task Force on Investment (HLTFI) was set up in October 2023 to expedite the proposed investments.
The Foreign Secretary had said that the talks between PM Modi and Salman may also discuss the implementation of the ambitious India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) project. The Israel-Hamas conflict, as well as the situation in Ukraine, are also expected to be discussed in this conversation.
