Pranab Mukherjee’s memorial will be built ,The Union Government on Tuesday approved a proposal to allocate a specific site within the ‘National Memorial’ Complex (a part of the Rajghat complex) for the construction for former President of India, the late Pranab Mukherjee. Reacting to the proposal, former President’s daughter Sharmistha Mukherjee thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
She wrote, “Heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for building Baba’s memorial. It is even more commendable since we did not ask for it.””
She said in a social media post, “Baba used to say that national honor should not be demanded; it should be given. I am very grateful that Prime Minister Modi did this to honor Baba’s memory.”
