Who Is Priyansh Arya? PBKS’ Rs 3.8 Crore Buy Who Scored 39-Ball Century vs CSK
Priyansh Arya Century: Before Priyansh Arya, only one century was scored in this season which came from the bat of Ishan Kishan. Ishan scored a century in 45 balls against Rajasthan Royals. But Priyansh broke that record and scored the fastest century in this season.
Priyansh Arya has scored his first century in IPL 2025. Punjab Kings’ young opener Priyansh has scored an astonishing century in just 39 balls against Chennai Super Kings. 24-year-old Priyansh, who is playing his first season in IPL, completed his century on Tuesday, 8 April, by batting explosively at the Mullanpur ground. Priyansh, who is playing only his fourth match in IPL, started the innings against Chennai Super Kings and hit a six on the very first ball of the match. Then he completed his century by hitting 3 consecutive sixes and a four in the 13th over. This is the fastest century of this season, while he is only the second batsman to score a century.
hit a six on the first ball
Priyansh, who scored a quick 47 runs while making his IPL debut against Gujarat Titans, was disappointed in the last match. He was bowled by Jofra Archer on the very first ball. Recovering from that disappointment, Priyansh hit a six on the very first ball of the next match. After such a start to Khalil’s over, he got a lifeline on the very next ball, when Khalil dropped his catch on his own ball. But on the fifth ball of the over, this batsman again hit a six.

Hit a century against Ashwin-Pathirana
After this, Priyansh targeted every bowler of Chennai, including veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. In fact, Priyansh completed his half-century in just 19 balls by hitting a six off Ashwin’s ball in the sixth over. This was the fastest half-century by any Indian this season. But this was not enough to give him peace, rather after this he hit 2 consecutive sixes against Ashwin. Priyansh wreaked real havoc in the 13th over.
Priyansh hit 3 long sixes on the second, third and fourth ball of the stormy pacer Mathisha Pathirana. Then he scored his first IPL century by hitting a four on the next ball. He was out in the 14th over. He scored 103 runs in 42 balls, which included 9 sixes and 7 fours. Along with this, he also got the record of the fastest century against CSK.
Punjab spent crores of rupees
Priyansh Arya created a stir with his explosive batting in the first season of Delhi Premier League last year. During this, he also hit 6 consecutive sixes in an over. On the basis of this, Punjab bought him for Rs 3.8 crore in the mega auction. Now within just 4 matches, this 24-year-old young batsman has proved himself. Priyansh is only the second batsman to score a century this season. Before him, Ishan Kishan had scored a century against Rajasthan Royals. But Priyansh scored a century even faster than him.

This year, again, I had a lot of expectations from the auctions but I was not thinking about it and was focused on Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 matches. After I was picked by Punjab Kings, I was elated but could not celebrate much as I continued to focus on the tournaments. I will surely celebrate soon.”
