Ram Gopal Verma gets 3 months jail; know what is matter .
Film director Ram Gopal Varma’s problems have increased. Mumbai’s Dhanderi Magistrate’s Court has sentenced Ram Gopal Varma to three months in jail in a cheque bounce case. The Dhanderi Magistrate’s Court, which is hearing the case that has been going on for the past seven years, pronounced this verdict on Tuesday.
It is worth mentioning that Ram Gopal Varma, who rose to fame with the film Satya, was not present during the hearing. Due to which the court has issued a non-bailable warrant for his arrest.It is to be noted that the case relates to a cheque issued by Ram Gopal Varma’s firm. The cheque issued by Ram Gopal Varma’s firm was not cashed in the bank. This is an offence under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act.
The section provides for the punishment for a cheque bounce due to the amount exceeding the prescribed limit or insufficient funds. According to India Today, Ram Gopal Varma has been ordered to pay a compensation of Rs 3.72 lakh to the complainant within three months or else undergo an additional three months’ simple imprisonment. In addition, a non-bailable warrant has been issued for his arrest.
