Sameer Mohanty will be the new president of the Odisha Olympic Association

Senior BJP leader and former state BJP president Sameer Mohanty will be appointed as the president of the Odisha Olympic Association (OOA). No one other than Sameer has applied for the post of the next president of the OOA. Therefore, he is guaranteed to become president unopposed.

He will remain the president of the OWA until 2029. The new officers will take charge at the OOA general council meeting on the 30th. Sameer Mohanty will be the new president of the OOA, while Abhijit Pal will be the editor. While the process of filing nominations has been completed, the final list of candidates has been published.

Both came forward as unopposed candidates. The Odisha Olympic Association serves as the governing body for sports in the state. It oversees various sports associations including cricket, football, hockey, tennis and badminton. It plays a major role in promoting sports at various levels and supporting players. In addition, the OOA is responsible for selecting players to represent India in major international competitions such as the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games and Indian National Games.
