Gill was fond of cricket since childhood and his father also wanted him to become a cricketer, but you may not know that Gill has also given his voice to the ‘Spider Man’ character in an animated film. Gill likes the character of Spider Man very much and he has also cast his magic on TV through it.
Shubman Gill has recently become the world’s number 1 ODI batsman. As soon as he became the number 1 batsman, he scored a century against Bangladesh in the Champions Trophy. Gill has come up in the list of legends through his game in a short time. This batsman has spread his colors in all three formats of cricket. Gill hardworking from childhood – Gill’s grandfather Didar Singh was a farmer and his father Lakhwinder is also a farmer. Lakhwinder wanted to make his son a cricketer. Gill’s father lived in Fazilka, Punjab but when Shubman was eight years old, he came to Mohali with his son and got him enrolled in Mohali Cricket Academy. In childhood, Gill used to wake up every morning at 3:30 and reach the academy by four. After practicing batting for two hours, Gill used to go to school. Shubman has studied only till 12th class. He could not study much to make a career in cricket.
This is how Shubhman’s luck changed
About 15 years ago, former fast bowler Karsan Ghavri was looking for a good batsman. Actually, he was in charge of the academy that looked for fast bowlers on behalf of BCCI. He was in Mohali Academy in connection with finding a good batsman for the bowlers. Then his eyes fell on Shubman Gill who was batting brilliantly. After this, he asked Shubman’s father to send Shubman to the nets. From here Gill’s luck took a turn. At the age of 11, he used to practice on the balls of the bowlers of the Under 19 cricket team in the nets.
Gill has become the voice of Spider-Man
Spider-Man is Gill’s favorite character. Gill has a special relationship with the animated film ‘Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse’ released in 2023. The lead role in this film was played by Pavitra Prabhakar and her character was voiced by Shubman Gill in the Hindi and Punjabi versions.
