India’s vice-captain Mandhana scored 747 runs in 13 innings in 2024, which is her best performance in a calendar year. The left-handed batsman was the highest run-scorer in 2024. She left behind South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt (697 runs), England’s Tammy Beaumont (554 runs) and West Indies’ Hayley Matthews (469 runs) in this race.
During this period, she set a new record in women’s cricket by scoring four centuries in ODIs. Along with this, she hit the ball across the boundary more than a hundred times. Mandhana hit 95 fours and six sixes in 2024. This 28-year-old batsman scored runs at an impressive strike rate of 95.15 in addition to an impressive average of 57.86. She also played many big innings against teams with better bowling units. She scored two consecutive centuries against South Africa in June 2024. India won this series 3-0.
She also scored a century in the match of the series against New Zealand in October. Mandhana also scored a century against Australia in Perth in December but despite her brilliant innings, the team had to face defeat.
