SRH VS RR 2025 IPL Match: Ishan Kishan smashes maiden IPL century, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s big win

Sunrisers Hyderabad Beat Rajasthan Royals By 44 Runs: Sunrisers Hyderabad are blessed with a very strong batting line-up, and since the beginning of their campaign, the matches have been explosive for them. Ishan Kishan was recently inducted into SRH’s ranks and made everyone sit up and take notice by marking this match with the second-highest-ever personal score for the team in IPL history by scoring 106 runs off just 47 balls, including 11 fours and 6 sixes, as they beat the Rajasthan Royals by 44 runs.

Ishan scored his maiden IPL century. Sunrisers, who lost to Rajasthan in the play-offs last year, have tasted the sweet taste of consecutive victories against this team. Rajasthan, who are looking to avenge their previous defeat, have fallen short of the target. Impact player Sanju Samson and wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel put up a fight in the batting, but ultimately lost their first match in the series. Hyderabad had set a huge target of 287 runs on Sunday. However, their opponents, Rajasthan, were bowled out at 242/6. And the team’s English bowler Jofra Archer recorded the most expensive bowler in IPL history by conceding 76 runs in just 4 overs. Which was like applying lime to a cut wound for Rajasthan. However, Ishan won the Player of the Year award in his first match played for Hyderabad.

Hyderabad were hoping to become the first team to reach 300 runs today, thanks to Ishan’s 45-ball century and fours from Travis Head (67 runs, 31 balls), Henrik Klassen (34 runs, 14 balls), Nitish Kumar Reddy (30 runs, 15 balls), and Abhishek Sharma (24 runs, 11 balls). However, Klassen, who was batting strongly, was out in the second ball of the 19th over, leaving them 14 runs short of this milestone. Which was just 1 run short of the highest team score (287) in the IPL. The team also has the highest score (287/3) in the IPL. Therefore, Hyderabad narrowly missed out on breaking its record.

However, with a score of 286/6, they also had four of the five highest team scores in the IPL. The team hit 46 boundaries (34 fours, 12 sixes) in their memorable innings. Which was a new record. Rajasthan’s chase was cut short in the second over. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal 1, interim captain Ryan Rag 4, and Nitish Rana were dismissed for just 11 runs before the team was in danger of losing by more than a hundred runs. However, along with Samson and Jurel, Simran Hetmyer (42) and Shubham Dube (34* runs, 11 balls) batted well. Although they could not lead the team to victory, they overcame the stigma of a miserable defeat.
