Quig Bruning, the company’s jewelry chief for North America, Europe and the Middle East, said they chose Abu Dhabi for the exhibition because of the strong interest in diamonds in the Gulf country. “We have great expectations for this region. We believe this is a place where there are both traders and collectors of diamonds of this importance and rarity,” he said.
Who is the woman wearing the rare blue diamond?
The exhibition featured Katia Nounou Boise, Deputy Chairman of Sotheby’s Middle East Dubai, wearing the rare diamond. Katia is Deputy Chairman of Middle East Dubai and has been with Sotheby’s since 2008. In 2015, Katia moved to Dubai and laid the foundation for Sotheby’s first UAE office, establishing the emirate as a major hub for important collections and masterpieces.
She has been instrumental in creating a series of special exhibitions, lectures and events for the Middle East, while also building strong relationships with clients in the region. Katia has a graduate degree in French literature from University College London.
