Players get government jobs. Players who perform well in sports are given government jobs. The central and state governments, in recognition of their contribution to sports, appoint them to high positions in the army or police department. Indian players who got government jobs:
Mahendra Singh Dhoni: Former Indian captain MS Dhoni is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Territorial Army. In 2015, he trained in the Parachute Regiment.
Mohammed Siraj: The star bowler of the Indian team is a government job by the Telangana government. He is posted as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).
Harmanpreet Kaur: Indian women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur is a Deputy Superintendent (DSP) of Punjab.
Harbhajan Singh: Former Indian veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh has been appointed as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Punjab.
Sachin Tendulkar: Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar is appointed as Group Captain in the Indian Air Force. The government appointed him to this post in recognition of his contribution in the field of cricket.
Joginder Sharma: Former Team India player Joginder Sharma is the Deputy Superintendent (DSP) of Haryana Police. Joginder is currently on duty.
Kapil Dev: Former captain of the Indian team and 1989 World Cup hero Kapil joined the Territorial Army in 2008 and holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. His father, Ram Lal Nikhanj, also served in the Indian Army.
KL Rahul: KL Rahul, the dangerous batsman of the Indian cricket team, was given the post of Assistant Manager in the Reserve Bank of India.
Umesh Yadav: The Indian cricket team’s dangerous fast bowler, Umesh Yadav, was given the post of Assistant Manager in the Reserve Bank of India.
