Uthappa opens up after arrest warrant issued

Robin Uthappa, a former Team India cricketer, has spoken out after an arrest warrant was issued against him. An arrest warrant was issued for him in connection with the Provident Fund (PF) scam involving his company’s employees. Uthappa denies any involvement in this issue.

In 2018-19, he was appointed director of Strawberry Lingerie Private Limited, Centaurus Lifestyle Brands Private Limited, and Berries Fashion House Company. He was given this position since he provided financial support to the companies. However, he was not engaged in any form of labour. To keep himself busy with cricket, worked as a TV presenter ; thus, he was not involved in any company management. Uthappa stated that he is not involved in any job for any company to which he contributes financially. Furthermore, the corporations have yet to repay the money he received. He also stated that he resigned from the position of director several years ago.

according to the report, Former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa has addressed the recent arrest warrant issued against him concerning an alleged Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) fraud. The warrant, issued by Regional Provident Fund Commissioner Shadakshara Gopala Reddy, alleges that Uthappa, as director of Centaurus Lifestyle Brands Pvt. Ltd., failed to remit ₹23.36 lakh in EPF dues deducted from employees’ salaries.

Uthappa, known for his contributions to Indian cricket, including being part of the 2007 T20 World Cup-winning squad, retired from all forms of cricket in September 2022. He currently resides in Dubai with his family.
