‘Chhaava’ surpasses ‘Pushpa 2’: dominates with ₹563.79 cr haul
Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava Set Closer To ₹600 crore-club: Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna and Akshay Khan starrer ‘Chhaava’ is doing well at the box office. The film, which released on February 14, has proved all the predictions of trade experts wrong. The film has already earned Rs 500 crore worldwide. Now the film is fast moving towards creating history at the domestic box office as well. Chhaava has already surpassed many films of Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan and it has also surpassed blockbusters like ‘Pushpa 2’ on its third Saturday.
Chhaava performed well at the box office in its third week as well. On Friday, the film collected Rs 13 crore at the domestic box office. On Saturday, its earnings increased again. According to the makers, the film earned Rs 21 crore on its 16th day. With this, the film’s earnings reached Rs 433.50 crore at the domestic box office.
Chhaava is a mid-budget film. In such a situation, it is surprising that it has done such a bumper business. In terms of earnings on its third Saturday, the film has even surpassed Allu Arjun’s all-time blockbuster film ‘Pushpa 2’. ‘Pushpa 2’ did a business of Rs 20 crore in Hindi on its third Saturday (17 days), while Chhaava managed to earn one crore more than it. However, Pushpa 2 did a business of Rs 24.75 crore in all languages on its third Saturday.
Chhaava is not only making a lot of money at the domestic box office, but is also doing well overseas. The film has earned a worldwide collection of Rs 566.5 crore in just 15 days. It has earned Rs 73 crore overseas. The 16th day figures are not yet released, which means that when these figures come in, the earnings figures will be even bigger.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, ‘Chhaava’ stars Vicky Kaushal in the lead role. He plays the role of Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Akshaye Khanna plays the role of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in the film. Rashmika plays the role of Sambhaji Maharaj’s wife Yesubai Bhosale in the film.
