This is not the Wedding at Rashtrapati Bhavan for first time
Wedding at Rashtrapati Bhavan , A news published that for the first time in history, a marriage was held at Rashtrapati Bhavan and on February 12, President Draupadi Murmu’s personal security officer Poonam Gupta and CRPF assistant commandant Avnish Kumar tied the knot. but we found that Poonam Gupta and Avnish Kumar’s marriage is not the first marriage held at Rashtrapati Bhavan. A look at the photo gallery of Rashtrapati Bhavan makes it clear that such events have been held there before.
We had previously reported this news. But later we found some pictures shared on 17 February 2018 , in which former President Ram Nath Kovind is seen attending a marriage ceremony. The caption of the photos stated that Ram Nath Kovind attended the marriage of his secretary Sanjay Kothari’s son Abhimanyu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on February 17, 2018. We also found some photos of Ram Nath Kovind dated November 4, 2017 , in which he was seen attending the wedding ceremony of Ishita, daughter of Joint Secretary Bharat Lal, held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Apart from this, we also found some pictures of former President Pranab Mukherjee , in which he is seen attending weddings held at Rashtrapati Bhavan .

It was clear from this that CRPF officer Poonam Gupta’s wedding is not the first marriage held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, weddings have been held at Rashtrapati Bhavan before this as well. During our investigation, we found a post related to this on the x handle of the fact check unit of Press Information Bureau (PIB), the nodal agency of the Government of India. In this post, PIB called the claim of the first marriage to be held in Rashtrapati Bhavan fake and wrote that Rashtrapati Bhavan has organized many weddings since its establishment.
