What Is Instagram’s New Feature, Blend: Today, Instagram is not just a photo-sharing app, but it has become a social media platform where new features keep coming, which work to keep the users engaged. Recently, Instagram has launched a new feature called “ Blend ”. This feature is especially for those users who want to enjoy watching and sharing Reels with their friends.
How does the Blend feature work?
Instagram says that this feature is as private as a direct message (DM). Users can invite any of their friends to ‘Blend’. As soon as your friend accepts this invite, Instagram’s algorithm starts suggesting special Reels for both of you. These suggestions are completely personalized, that is, the list of Reels is prepared based on the Instagram activity of you and your friend.

Blend has an invite-only feature:
This ‘Blend’ feature of Instagram is invite-only. This means that to join it, you have to send or receive an invitation from a friend. As soon as both users join this Blend, any Reel shared via DM will be automatically updated in the Blend feed. Every Reel in Blend will also be mentioned for whom this Reel is suggested. While watching Reels, users can chat from the message bar below or can also react directly with emojis.
The Blend icon will appear in DM:
When you join Blend, you’ll also see a separate Blend icon in your chat window, next to the audio call and video call buttons. You can exit Blend at any time.
