what rights Manmohan Singh has given to the Indian people? Former Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh passed away on Thursday night at the age of 92. He was a leader of India who not only gave a new direction to the country’s politics but also laid the foundation of rights that brought about major changes in the lives of common people.

Singh will be remembered for many achievements. If the economic reforms of 1991 established India’s economy on the global stage, then during his tenure as Prime Minister, rights like education, food, employment and information got legal recognition. During his tenure as Prime Minister twice, he took historic decisions whose echoes are heard even today. 

This was the time when rights like education, food, employment and information were given legal recognition. Laws like Right to Education, Right to Information, Right to Employment under MNREGA, and Right to Food (Food Security Act) brought positive changes in the lives of crores of people.
