Who is Mohan Majhi ? BJP leader now Chief Minister of Odisha. 52-year-old new cm comes from the tribal community. He will be the first Chief Minister of BJP in the state. Majhi is counted among the fiery tribal leaders of the state. Mohan Majhi first came into the limelight when he threw lentils at the Odisha Assembly Speaker. Majhi is a four-time MLA. Majhi is known for his performance in the Odisha Legislative Assembly. He has been identified for his well attitude. In the 2024 assembly elections, Majhi has won from Keonjhar assembly seat. He had also won from the same seat in 2019, but before that he lost the assembly in 2009 and 2014. In this election, he defeated Meena Majhi of Biju Janata Dal by 11,577 votes. Last time he won by just 1,124 votes.

Then this matter had gained a lot of momentum in the politics of the state, although the fellow MLA who was present with Majhi refused to throw the lentils. Majhi had protested to expose the scam of crores of rupees in the mid-day meal. Majhi had reached the assembly with unboiled lentils.
15th Chief Minister of Odisha
Mohan Majhi, who won for the fourth time from Keonjhar Assembly of Odisha, will be the 15th Chief Minister of the state. Born on January 6, 1972, Majhi’s wife’s name is Dr. Priyanka Marandi. Along with Majhi, BJP MLA KV Singh Dev and Parvati Parida will take oath as Deputy Chief Minister. Majhi has also served as the Chief Whip of the BJP Legislative Party in the Odisha Assembly. Majhi is very active among the common people, which is why he kept reaching the Assembly even during the long rule of BJD in the state.

Mohan , who has been elected as the CM of Odisha, was the first Sarpanch to become one. He was Sarpanch from 1997-2000. A native of Raikala village under Keonjhar Sadar Police Station in Keonjhar district, Majhi belongs to the Santhal tribe.
