Why did Rekha Gupta become the new Chief Minister of Delhi? Rekha Gupta took the oath as the new and fourth woman Chief Minister of Delhi on Thursday. Rekha Gupta has been associated with the RSS since childhood. She entered politics through the ABVP, the student union of the Sangh. In 1994-95, she became the secretary of Daulat Ram College. In 1995-96, she became the secretary of the students’ union of Delhi University. And in 1996-97, she became the president of the Delhi University Students’ Union. Rekha Gupta was the secretary of the Delhi BJP Yuva Morcha from 2003-2004.
Later, she became the national secretary of Yuva Morcha from 2004 to 2006. After that, she became a councilor from Uttar Patrampurain April 2007. After becoming a councilor in the municipal corporation, she was given the responsibility of the president of the Women’s Welfare and Baal Vikas Samiti from 2007-09. In 2010, she was made a member of the national executive of the BJP.
Currently, she is the national vice president of the BJP Women’s Morcha. Apart from this, she was also a councilor from Shalimar Bagh. The names in the discussion were: MLA Parvesh Verma, Satish Upadhyay, Ashish Sud, Jitendra Mahajan, Vijendra Gupta, Abhay Verma, Rekha Gupta, and Sikh Roy.
