Why is celebrated Vijay Diwas in India ? know the reason..

The Indian Army is known all over the world for its bravery and valor. At various times, the Army has fought many wars, in which the Army has shown the utmost valor. Among these, the Indian Army fought a war with Pakistan in 1971 for the freedom of Bangladesh and achieved victory.

How was Bangladesh formed?
Due to partition, India was divided into two parts. One part was called East Pakistan and the other part was called West Pakistan. In this, a large part of Bengal was known as East Pakistan. However, West Pakistan strongly opposed East Pakistan. Bangladesh was formed after East Pakistan was ruled by West Pakistan for about 24 years.

93000 soldiers surrendered
Bangladesh started a war against Pakistan for freedom. On 3 December 1971, the war between India and Pakistan started. In this, India also fought against Pakistan in support of Bangladesh. Field Marshal Manik Khan led this war. About 4000 brave Indian soldiers were martyred in the war. The Pakistani army was defeated after a total of 13 days. Finally, on 16 December, the Chief of the Pakistan Army, General AA Niazi Khan, surrendered to the Indian army along with 93,000 soldiers.

Why is Victory Day celebrated?
In this war that lasted for a total of 13 days, the Pakistani army surrendered. After the defeat of Pakistan, Bangladesh became independent. Remembering this day as Victory Day, the entire country salutes our brave army. On this day, we should salute the brave soldiers and be proud of being Indians.

Vijay Diwas is also a day to honor the soldiers and civilians who made supreme sacrifices during the war.Vijay Diwas is observed with various ceremonies and celebrations, including the wreath-laying ceremonies at war memorials, military parades, and remembrance events across India, especially in New Delhi, where the war’s victory is prominently acknowledged.
