Thousands of devotees visit this place and take a bath in the same river where it is being organized to wash their sins. It starts with a royal bath. Why is the Kumbh Mela celebrated? According to folklore, this fair is held in four rivers where nectar drips fell. It is said that during the churning of the seas, while the gods and demons fought for the nectar, the devils obtained it. He, in the form of Mohini, gave the nectar to Garuda. And while Garuda and the demons fought to grab the nectar, some drops fell into those four rivers. Since then, Kumbh Mela has been organized in those four places for 12 years. The first one was held in Prayagraj in 1870.
