Significance red (sindoor) offered to Hanumanji only on Tuesday
Why Is Red (Sindoor) Offered To Hanumanji Only On Tuesday: Hindus consider Tuesday to be the day dedicated to Hanumanji. Tuesdays are for Hanumanji- strict and specific, as this is a day set aside to appease him and give him what he loves: that this day, vermilion is offered to Hanumanji. Even then, people will do the same and offer choli to Hanumanji for the grant of their wishes. But do you know why this is done? If not, then let us tell you.
Hanuman Ji is the embodiment of physical, mental, and spiritual strength, while Mars is the commander of the gods, he is fierce by nature. In religious texts, the red color is accepted as the symbol of Rajoguna, hence, Bajrangbali is the symbol of the red color, the center of Rajoguna power. Hanuman Ji is the world of power, Sindoor is made by mixing red color and lead. Red color is the symbol of power, lead is the center of power; hence, vermilion, made by mixing both, is offered to the most powerful god, Bajrangbali. There is a tradition of offering vermilion to Hanuman Lala on Tuesday.
Popular story about offering vermilion to Bajrang Bali:
There is a famous story behind this mystery. It happened that once Hanuman ji saw Sita Maa applying sindoor in her hair parting and asked her in surprise- Mother! Why have you applied this red substance to your forehead? What is the reason for that? Sita ji liked this simple thing of Hanuman ji very much, and she said happily, Son! I apply sindoor in my hair parting to wish for my master Shri Ram’s long life and a healthy life.
By applying it, one attains longevity and remains happy with me. On hearing this reply of Sita Maa, Hanuman thought that when my Lord Rama gets so much benefit by applying a pinch of Sindoor, then if it is applied on the whole body, my master will become immortal. Having such a simple and true thought, Hanuman Ji reached the assembly after applying Sindoor all over his body, then Lord Shri Ram was moved to see his devotion and innocence.
He was very happy to see her. Hanuman ji had even more faith in the words of Mata Janaki. From that day onwards, the tradition of offering vermilion to Hanuman ji and Bajrang Bali started, which every devotee has been performing to date.
Why did Mother Sita apply vermilion to Hanumanji?
There is another popular story about this. When Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya with Sita after conquering Lanka, the monkey army was bid farewell. Mother Sita took off her precious necklace from her neck and gave it to Hanuman Ji as a gift, but Hanuman Ji did not show any special happiness on receiving it, because Lord Rama’s name was not on any bead of that necklace.
Then Mother Sita put the vermilion from her forehead on Hanumanji’s forehead and said that she did not have anything more important than this, and from then onwards, vermilion started being offered to Hanumanji.
Blessings are showered on the devotee who offers vermilion
Hanuman is the bestower of strength, wisdom, and knowledge. Sindoor is very dear to him. Those devotees who offer sindoor to Hanuman with a true heart, Bajrang Bali, fulfill all their wishes. Sindoor is a symbol of good fortune and energy, by merely worshipping it, even a physically weak devotee gets energized.
While offering vermilion to the idol of Hanuman, one must chant this mantra.
Sindooram Raktavarnaam Cha Sindooratilakpriya.
Bhaktayan Dattam Maya Dev Sindooram Pratigrihyatam.
By doing this remedy, the son of wind takes away your troubles and brings positive energy into your life.
