25th Rajdhani Book Fair Begins; 300 Publishers And Booksellers Participate

The 25th Rajdhani Book Fair began today (November 14) at Durga Puja ground in Shaheed Nagar. It will continue till November 23. Around 300 publishers and booksellers from the state and outside the state have opened their stalls here. Renowned writer Shantanu Kumar Acharya graced the inauguration ceremony of the fair on the evening of the 14th as the inaugural guest.

It was presided over by Upendra Kumar Jena, with Sanghamitra Mishra present as the chief guest and Pitavas Rautraya as the keynote speaker.

While most publishers from Cuttack city participated in this book fair, only one publisher affiliated with the Odisha Publishers Association in Bhubaneswar participated.

Among the institutions under the Central Government, the National Book Trust, Publication Division, and NCERT were the prominent ones who participated, while no institution under the Odisha State Government participated.

Major companies from outside the state, including Gita Press, Kalyani Publications, Penguin Random House, Ostrich, HarperCollins, etc., are present at this fair.

Some of the well-known publishers of Odisha, including Ama Odisha, Pakshighar, A.K. Mishra, Friends Publishers, Odisha Book Store, Dharmagranth Store, have also participated. Some private universities have also opened their stalls here. Although there was not much crowd in this fair on the first day, it is expected that it will increase from the next days.
