Former Disney Actor Matthew Prokop Arrested on Child Pornography and Assault Charges: Former actor Matthew Prokop, best known for his role as Jimmy “The Rocket Man” Zara in Disney’s High School Musical 3: Senior Year, has been arrested on multiple serious charges, including possession of child pornography, resisting arrest, breach of contract, and aggravated assault.
According to reports by TMZ, Prokop is currently being held at a county jail after being taken into custody on Christmas Eve. Authorities stated that he is not eligible for bail at this time. In addition to the child pornography charges, Prokop was also booked for resisting arrest. Records further indicate that he had previously been arrested on a breach of contract charge.
This is not the first time the former actor has faced legal trouble. In May 2024, Prokop was arrested in Victoria, Texas, following an alleged assault on his girlfriend. In that case, he was charged with aggravated assault on a family member along with resisting arrest.
Prokop had also been accused of domestic violence in the past. Actress Sarah Hyland, who dated Prokop for four years after co-starring with him in the 2011 Disney film Geek Charming, accused him of domestic abuse in August 2014. At the time, Hyland made public allegations, and Prokop reportedly evaded arrest.
Born in Texas, Matthew Prokop began his acting career with an appearance on Hannah Montana in 2007. He later appeared in shows such as The Office and gained wider recognition through representation by Management 360 and APA in 2011. His film and television credits include Medium, Fury Vengeance, and Geek Charming.
