Rohit Sharma And Harmanpreet Kaur To Receive Padma Shri : Along with Rohit and Harmanpreet, Indian women’s hockey team captain Sabita Punia has been considered worthy of the Padma Shri and tennis legend Vijay Amritraj has been considered worthy of the Padma Bhushan award.
Two-time World Cup-winning cricket captains Rohit Sharma and Harmanpreet Kaur, along with nine sports stars, have been named in the Padma Awards list announced on Saturday. Along with Rohit and Harmanpreet, Indian women’s hockey team captain Sabita Punia has been considered worthy of the Padma Shri and tennis legend Vijay Amritraj has been considered worthy of the Padma Bhushan award.
Similarly, the great wrestling coach of Georgia, Vladimir Mestavirisvili, has been awarded the Padma Shri posthumously. He is being honoured with this honour for taking many Indian wrestlers to the Olympics. Veteran hockey coach, Baladev Singh, will also receive the Padma Shri. Players nominated for the Padma Awards-2026: Vijay Amritraj (Padma Bhushan), Baladev Singh (Padma Shri), Bhagwandas Rayekar (Padma Shri), Harmanpreet Singh (Padma Shri), K Pajanivel (Padma Shri), Praveen Kumar (Padma Shri), Rohit Sharma (Padma Shri), Savita Punia (Padma Shri). Vladimir Mestavirisvili (Padma Shri, posthumously).
