Dharmendra Pradhan Launches AI-Powered Teacher App 2.0 to Transform Classrooms
Teacher App 2.0 Launched: AI Set to Make Teaching Easier: In a major step toward modernizing India’s education system, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has launched Teacher App 2.0, an AI-powered platform designed to empower educators and enhance classroom learning.
The upgraded app is the result of a collaborative effort between telecom giant Bharti Airtel and global education nonprofit CK-12 Foundation. With artificial intelligence at its core, the app aims to simplify lesson planning, improve access to quality content, and provide teachers with advanced digital tools.
Calling the app a “force multiplier” for educators, Pradhan emphasized that technology should act as a support system rather than a replacement. “AI will make teaching easier for students and serve as a digital companion for teachers,” he said during the launch event.
Teacher App 2.0 offers educators access to high-quality learning materials, smart teaching aids, and a dedicated dashboard to monitor student progress in real time. The platform is designed to help teachers better understand student performance and tailor their teaching methods accordingly.
Highlighting India’s push toward technological self-reliance, the minister also suggested integrating a Sovereign Large Language Model (LLM) into the platform. He stressed the importance of making AI-driven training tools available in all major Indian languages to ensure inclusivity and equal access across the country.
The launch marks another milestone in India’s ongoing digital education transformation, aiming to bridge gaps in resources and bring innovative solutions directly into classrooms. With Teacher App 2.0, the government hopes to empower teachers with smarter tools — ultimately enriching the learning experience for millions of students nationwide.
