Tragedy in Chatra: Ranchi-Delhi Air Ambulance Goes Down, All On Board Dead
Jharkhand Air Ambulance Crashes: All 7 on board killed: A tragic plane crash in Jharkhand’s Chatra district claimed the lives of all seven people on board, including two crew members and five passengers. The aircraft, an air ambulance transporting a burn patient for advanced treatment, went down shortly after takeoff from Ranchi.
According to officials, the chartered air ambulance took off from Ranchi Airport at 7:11 pm and was scheduled to land in Delhi at 8:30 pm. However, just 23 minutes into the flight, contact with Air Traffic Control was lost. The aircraft later crashed near the Simaria block in Chatra district.
The wreckage was found in a forested area near Kasaria village in Simaria. Rescue teams rushed to the site and recovered all seven bodies, which have been sent for post-mortem examination. Authorities suspect that bad weather or a possible technical fault may have led to the crash, though the exact cause will be determined after investigation.
The ill-fated aircraft, a Beechcraft King Air BE9L, bearing registration VT-AJV, belonged to Redbird Airways and was operating as an air ambulance. The flight was carrying a critically injured burn patient from Ranchi to Delhi for specialized medical care.
Officials from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) have initiated action, and a civil aviation team is expected to reach Chatra to recover the aircraft’s black box. Meanwhile, the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) will conduct a detailed investigation into the accident to determine the exact sequence of events leading to the crash.
Local district authorities and emergency response teams remain at the crash site as the nation mourns the loss of seven lives in yet another aviation tragedy.
