Rare Cosmic View Of 6 Planets : Six planets will be close in the evening sky from Saturday. This rare cosmic spectacle will be visible till March 7. This planetary cluster will create attraction in the sky every day for about 30 minutes to 60 minutes after sunset. In English, it is called ‘Planet Parade’ and in Odia, it is called ‘Graha Samabha’. This word has no scientific definition. But it is widely used in astronomy, said anthropologist Dr. Subhendu Patnaik.
About 30 minutes after sunset, Venus, Mercury, Neptune and Saturn will be in sequence near the western horizon. Uranus will be about 45 degrees above and Jupiter will be almost overhead. Out of these six planets, four, namely Venus, Mercury, Jupiter and Saturn, will be visible to the naked eye. But Uranus and Neptune will be visible only through binoculars. Since the brightness of Mercury and Saturn is very low, it will be difficult to see them from cities with light pollution. People will get the opportunity to see this cosmic spectacle of four planets at the same time with the naked eye. It will be visible from Odisha and all parts of India if the sky is free from clouds and light pollution, said Dr. Patnaik.
