Newlyweds Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna Get ‘Ranbaali’ Surprise as Makers Drop Romantic Song Teaser
Vijay and Rashmika Reunite Onscreen for Third Time in ‘Ranbaali’: Just two days after the wedding of South cinema’s most loved couple, Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, fans have been treated to a heartwarming surprise.
The makers of their upcoming historical drama Ranbaali have released a new poster along with a glimpse of the film’s first song, O Mere Sajan. The 1-minute-20-second teaser beautifully captures the wedding of Ranbali (played by Vijay) and Jayamma (played by Rashmika), mirroring the joy of the couple’s real-life celebrations.
The video opens with a traditional wedding ceremony, where aarti is performed for the royal couple. Jayamma is then seen entering her new home with a kalash in hand, symbolizing prosperity and new beginnings. The teaser goes on to showcase tender romantic moments between the two, highlighting their natural chemistry and deep emotional connection. Alongside the release, the makers extended heartfelt wishes to the newlyweds.
A Royal Look Set in 1878
Set in 1878 and inspired by the history of Rayalaseema, the film presents Vijay in a regal avatar. Dressed in a dhoti with a draped scarf, long hair, earrings, and a thick moustache, he embodies the aura of a king. Rashmika, in a traditional red saree, looks every bit the graceful bride.
In the newly released poster, the two are seen seated on a raised platform. Vijay carries a serious and commanding expression, while Rashmika appears slightly nervous yet radiant — adding depth to their characters.
The Music Behind the Magic
The Hindi version of “O Mere Sajan” is sung by Shweta Mohan and Javed Ali. The music has been composed by Ajay–Atul, with lyrics penned by Kshitij Patwardhan. Though only a glimpse has been released, the melody already hints at a grand and emotional love story.
Directed by Rahul Sankrityayan, the film also features Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo as the antagonist.
Third Time Together Onscreen
‘Ranbaali’ marks Vijay and Rashmika’s third film together after the blockbuster hits Geetha Govindam (2018) and Dear Comrade (2019). Both films were widely loved, and fans are now eagerly waiting to see their favorite pair light up the big screen once again — this time as a real-life married couple.
‘Ranbaali’ is set to release in theatres on September 11, promising audiences a grand historical romance filled with emotion, tradition, and royal drama.
