US Claims Strike on 16 Iranian Mine-Laying Boats in Gulf Waters

US Destroys Iranian Mine Boats Near Strait of Hormuz Amid Rising Tensions: Amid rising tensions in West Asia, the United States Central Command has claimed a major military operation against Iranian naval vessels near the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the US military, American forces targeted and destroyed several Iranian boats on March 10. The operation reportedly included attacks on around 16 vessels that could be used to lay naval mines in the sea. The command also shared a video of the operation on social media.

Former US President Donald Trump issued a strong warning to Iran. He said that if sea mines have been placed in the Strait of Hormuz, Iran must remove them immediately. Trump warned that if the mines are not cleared, the United States could respond with very harsh military action. He added that removing the explosives would be a positive step toward reducing tensions in the region.

According to reports from American media, intelligence agencies believe Iran may be preparing to place sea mines in this important shipping route. Some officials also fear that a small number of mines may have already been deployed.

US Warns Iran Over Possible Sea Mines in Strategic Oil Route

Meanwhile, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations reported a separate incident near the Ras Al Khaimah. A container ship traveling about 25 nautical miles northwest of the area reported being hit by an unidentified projectile. Authorities said the crew members are safe, and the ship’s team is currently checking the extent of the damage.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the most important sea routes in the world. Nearly 20 percent of global oil trade passes through this narrow waterway every day. Because of this, any military conflict in the region can quickly affect the global energy market and international shipping.

Experts say that with tensions rising between the US and Iran, the area has become a high-risk zone for commercial ships. Iran’s navy and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps have previously warned that ships passing through the route could be targeted.

As the situation continues to develop, many countries and shipping companies are closely monitoring the security of this vital global trade route.
