Rajya Sabha Elections: There is a strong strategy in the BJD camp for the Rajya Sabha elections. There is a strong strategy in the BJD camp for the Rajya Sabha elections. The party has prepared a special ‘blue-print’ to ensure the victory of its two candidates, Santhrupta Mishra and Dr. Dattaswar Hota. To avoid the possibility of cross-voting, the BJD high command has divided the MLAs into two groups. The MLAs on whom the party has full confidence will vote for Dr. Hota. On the other hand, the party does not want to take any risk with some MLAs who are ‘in doubt’, so they have been instructed to vote in favour of Santhrupta Mishra.
On election day, arrangements have been made to keep everyone together in a specific place so that no MLA comes into contact with the opposition. The voting process will also be in two phases. In the first phase, 30 MLAs will go and vote in favor of Santhrupta Mishra. After that, the remaining MLAs will vote for Dr. Hota in the second phase. Through this strategy, the BJD aims to win by preserving its strength.
