Tok Gwal Dev Village Finally Gets Electricity After 75 Years of Struggle: In a historic milestone for the remote Tok Gwal Dev village in Goriya Dev, Nainital, residents are now enjoying the benefits of electricity, overcoming a 75-year-long struggle. Former BJP state minister Rakesh Nainwal, with the help of MP Ajay Bhatt’s MPLADS fund, took the initiative to electrify the village. The project required a difficult 5-kilometer trek, which Nainwal undertook himself, braving steep and challenging terrain for over three hours to ensure the mission’s success.
The arrival of electricity brought immense joy to the villagers, particularly the families of Bhupal Singh Negi, Gobind Singh Negi, and Ram Singh Negi. For the first time, they were freed from living in darkness, and the benefits were immediately clear: children could study more easily, and women could carry out household tasks with greater convenience.
Nainwal also promised to extend the road to the village with further support from MP Ajay Bhatt’s fund, sparking excitement among the locals. The event was marked by the support of various local leaders and villagers, including Former Pradhan Raju Negi, Sarpanch Balam Negi, and others. The villagers expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the positive change in their lives.
