Big Relief For Employees : Good News For Employees,No Professional Tax Deducted from salary : There is great good news for the employees, businessmen and professionals of Odisha. Professional tax has been completely abolished in the state from April 1, 2026.
The Odisha State Tax on Professions, Trades, Challenges and Employment Act 2026 has been repealed as per the State Professions, Trades, Challenges and Employment Act 2000. As a result of this decision, no employee will have to pay this tax from April this year.
In this regard, clear instructions have been issued to all the Departmental Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs). The instructions state that no professional tax will be deducted from the salary of any employee during the payment of salary for the month of April 2026. This step of the government is expected to provide great financial security to all categories of employees in the state.
