Telegram CEO blames Reliance, stating they are intentionally blocking access: Telegram founder and CEO Pavel Durov has made serious allegations against India’s Reliance group. Durov claims that Reliance is allegedly affecting Telegram’s internet connectivity, causing problems for millions of users outside India as well.
After the temporary ban on Telegram in India, Telegram owner Pavel Durov targeted the Reliance group. In an ‘X’ post, he stated that Reliance is affecting Telegram’s network routing through a technique called Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) Hijacking. According to him, its effect is not only limited to India, but users of many other countries, including the UAE, have also been affected by it.
Telegram CEO claimed that this problem is being created on purpose. He said that Reliance has ignored several reports on the issue. This may be a part of competitive war between messaging platforms like whatsapp, facebook and instagram he added.
As of now, Reliance has not publicly responded to Pavel Durov’s allegations. No official statement has yet been issued by the company on the matter.
