Subarnapur schools and colleges will remain closed till June 20: The Subarnapur district administration has ordered the closure of all educational institutions till June 20, 2026. The decision has been taken in view of the prevailing severe heatwave conditions.
According to an official order issued by the District Collector on June 17, all Anganwadi Centres (AWCs), Schools, Colleges, Technical Institutions, and other educational institutions will remain closed until June 20. However, examinations scheduled during this period will continue as per the existing timetable. The administration has directed that examinations be conducted preferably in the morning hours to minimize students’ exposure to extreme heat.
The order also instructs heads of all institutions to ensure availability of sufficient safe drinking water and implement necessary heat-wave safety measures for students and staff. The administration emphasised strict compliance with the order to safeguard children and employees from heat-related illnesses.
