Ukraine hits Moscow oil refinery, disrupting commercial flights: Ukraine has launched drone attack on an oil refinery in Moscow on Thursday. This is the second major attack within a week. Black smoke was seen rising from the oil refinery. Initial reports indicate damage to critical infrastructure. Videos and pictures going viral on social media have increased the seriousness of this attack.

The Russian Defence Ministry said that its air defences overnight shot down 555 Ukrainian drones over multiple regions, with almost 200 intercepted as they were approaching the Russian capital. The Russian Transport Ministry said that flights from four Moscow airports were halted. Flights from all Moscow airports – Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, Vnukovo, and Zhukovsky – have been suspended until further notice. Attacks on oil refineries, power plants, and energy centers are aimed at affecting the supply chains and essential services of an adversary country.

However, no official information has been provided by the Russian administration regarding the amount of damage to the oil refinery or any casualities in this attack.
