Pune rape- murder: Court convicts 65- year- old death penalty: In a shocking incident a 3 year old allegedly raped and murdered by a 65-year-old man. A special court in Pune on Monday awarded death penalty to the accused.
The incident took place on May1, 2026 in Nasrapur village of Pune district in Maharastra. Bhimrao Kamble(accused) took the 3 year old girl on pretext of giving her snacks and showing her calf. He took the girl to a lonely place near a cattle shed, where he allegedly raped and subsequently murdered her. After this incident came to light it led to mass outrage. The case was heard in a fast- track court and within 60 days of the incident the court convicted the accused. On June 25, the Pune Court delivered a guilty verdict, describing the crime as ‘heinous’.
During the trial, the prosecution presented CCTV camera footage, DNA profiling, medical evidence, forensic reports and testimonies to the court. The prosecution was represented by special public prosecutor Ajay Misar.
