27 Nepali Nationals Accused of Availing Government Scheme Benefits in India
27 Nepali Nationals Booked for Using Aadhaar and Voter Cards in India: Police in the Jarwa area of Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh, have registered a case against 27 people for allegedly holding citizenship and identity documents from both India and Nepal.
The action was taken after an investigation ordered by the District Magistrate. According to Superintendent of Police Vikas Kumar, the inquiry found that some people from Koilabas in Nepal’s Dang district obtained Indian documents, including Aadhaar and voter ID cards, by giving false addresses in Balrampur.
Police said these individuals used the documents to get benefits under Indian government schemes. The investigation also found that their names appeared on both Indian and Nepalese voter lists.
Officials discovered that one person listed in the case does not live at the recorded Indian address, while another had died months ago but was still found in official records.
A case has been registered, and police are verifying all documents with the concerned departments. Further legal action will be taken based on the investigation.
