Security arrangements tightened in Delhi ahead of Independence Day: Delhi is under high alert ahead of Independence Day celebrations. A special alert has been issued regarding the threat of snap protests, Pakistan-backed terrorist organizations, and Khalistani elements. About 24,000 guests are expected to attend the ceremony at the Red Fort.

Around 12,000 Delhi Police personnel will be deployed to protect PM Narendra Modi’s ceremony in the Red Fort. More than 1,000 AI-based CCTV cameras have been installed in and around the Red Fort. Various security and intelligence agencies, along with the Delhi Police, will conduct surveillance. QRT, SWAT commandos, snipers, bomb disposal squad and dog squad will be deployed for security. The authorities also tightened security at government sites, sensitive areas, bus stands and railway stations.

Based on intelligence inputs, Delhi Police has prepared a blueprint for special security. Special security arrangements will be made in Lutyen’s Delhi. All roads will be barricaded and vehicles will be evacuated. During this time, the checking system will also be very strict.

Delhi Police is already prepared for PM Modi’s speech at the Red Fort. Planning regarding the route for vehicles going towards the Red Fort and many VVIP movements, along with parking arrangements are underway.
