Stampede at Bihar’s Ashok Dham Temple Leaves 7 Dead
Tragedy at Ashok Dham: 7 Devotees Dead, Several Injured: A tragic incident took place at the historic Ashok Dham (Indra Damaneshwar Mahadev Temple) in Lakhisarai, Bihar, on Monday morning.
Seven devotees died, and around six others were seriously injured during the rush for Jalabhishek on the third Monday of Sawan. The incident happened around 6:45 AM.
According to officials, two trains arrived at Ashok Dham halt at the same time, causing some people to rush. A nearby electric pole fell, leading to rumours that the area had become electrified. This caused panic among the devotees and triggered a stampede.
Police and administrative officials quickly reached the spot. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The administration has ordered a high-level inquiry into the incident.
