‘Batwara 1947’ Struggles To Cross 50 Crores At Box Office: ‘Batwara- 1947’ has failed to make an impact at the box office. Even after 9 days of its’s release the film has not yet crossed Rs 40 crore mark.

‘Batwara- 1947’ was released on August 14. The film had created tremendous buzz before its release. According to media sources, the film witnessed a ₹1.15 crore collection on its ninth day, with 3,247 shows and 12% occupancy. Its overall box-office tally has now climbed to ₹35.50 crore. The film had an opening of 5.75 crores. On the first day, the film received 8,721 shows and an occupancy of 15 per cent. The film collected 13.50 crores on the second day. The film received 8,071 shows and an occupancy of 34 percent on the second day. The film’s earnings declined on the third day and the film earned 7.25 crore. The film received 7,239 shows on its third day and 22 percent occupancy.

Fourth day collection was very low with earnings of 2 crore. The film got 6,771 shows and 11 percent occupancy. The film collected 2.25 crore on the fifth day, 1.50 crore on the sixth day and 1.35 crore on the seventh day. The film earned 33.60 crores in the first week. On the eighth day, the film earned 75 lakhs. The film got 3211 shows and 9 percent occupancy.

Rajkumar Santoshi directed and Aamir Khan produced ‘Batwara- 1947’ was based on a plot of partition. The film was made with a budget of around 120 crore rupees. The film also faced competition from Awarapan 2, which was released on the same day and has performed better at the box office. The lead cast includes Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, and Shabana Azmi. Karan Deol, son of Sunny Deol, is also part of the film. Preity Zinta, through this film, has made a Bollywood comeback after 8 years.
