First installment of Laxmi Yojana released, first payout from Sept 1: Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta has released the first installment of Laxmi Yojana on Wednesday. The main aim of this yojana is to make women financially self-reliant.
Addressing the occasion at Delhi’s Talkatora stadium CM Gupta said, ‘I am pleased that under the guidance of PM Narendra Modi we are fulfilling promises made in the manifesto. We have launched the Delhi Laxmi Yojana from August 1 to provide Rs 2,500 monthly to women of Delhi. Today we handed over the approval letters to the first 2,500 beneficiaries under the scheme. After opening their bank accounts and CBDC wallets, the funds will be credited to their accounts on September 1. I am happy that the women of Delhi are happy and we are fulfilling our promise to their respect, safety and self-reliant.
Delhi Laxmi Yojana has become operational from August 1, 2026. Over 6 lakh women beneficiaries have registered under the scheme. But Rs 2,500 transferred to their account cannot be fully used every month. Out of the total amount Rs 1,500 will be Fixed Deposited in their account. The remaining Rs 1,000 will be available as digital currency (CBDC) only for digital expenses.
How to check application status:
1. First visit the official portal of Delhi Laxmi Yojana dly.delhi.gov.in.
2. Click on the Track Application option that appears on the homepage here.
3. After this, a new page will opened, where you have to enter your registered mobile number, date of birth and the captcha that appears on the screen.
4. After filling all these details click on Sign In button. After this, the status of the application will be displayed on the screen.
Eligibility criteria:
1. Age of woman should be between 21 to 60 years. She should be the eldest female member of her family.
2. The annual income of the family should not be more than 2.5 lakh rupees.
3. Women should be a registered voter in Delhi. Additionally, her spouse or any of her parents should be a resident of Delhi for at least 10 years on the date of application.
4. Household electricity consumption should not exceed 2400 units during the last 12 months.
Who is not eligible to apply?
1. Women receiving government pension or regular financial assistance will not be eligible.
2. Income tax payers, GST filers, government employees and public representatives will also not be able to avail the scheme.
3. Eligibility will also be affected if the woman or any member of her family owns a four-wheeler.
4. Women who have more than 3 children or have a criminal record are also not eligible as per the terms of this scheme.
