Mayawati expels nephew Akash Anand from BSP: The internal conflict in the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has taken a major turn. BSP chief Mayawati has expelled her nephew Akash Anand from the party. Ahead of UP elections Mayawati’s decision has created chaos within the party.
Mayawati said that Akash Anand, her nephew and former national convener of the party, has been fully relieved from the party. Mayawati on Wednesday had made an offer in front of her nephew Akash Anand that if her father-in-law Ashok Siddharth take ‘sanyas’ from politics, she would give Akash Anand a position and responsibility in the party. Accepting this offer, Ashok Siddharth announced his retirement. However, Akash did not re post what Mayawati said on Wednesday. That’s what she pointed out and said that Akash Anand was so ‘strongly attached’ to his father-in-law that he did not re post. Whereas earlier, he used to prove his loyalty by re posting X posts from BSP chief’s.
The announcement followed the retirement of Akash Anand’s father-in-law and former Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Siddharth, who was expelled for alleged anti-party activities. Taking to X on Thursday, Mayawati said,‘ Ashok Siddharth took the decision to retire from politics too late but finally took the right decision. If he had taken the decision of retirement earlier, the Bahujan Movement and Akash Anand would not had to face continuous adverse circumstances. Nor would I have had to take tough decisions in larger interest of the party amid election preparations.
