Raghav Chadha’s name added to Delhi voter’s list: BJP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha’s name has been added to the Delhi voter’s list. The development came amid ongoing updation of voter list under Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in Delhi.

According to the office of Delhi Chief Electoral Officer Chadha’s name was added through the regular electoral roll updation process after his name was removed from the Punjab electoral rolls. A total of 700 applications for inclusion of names had been approved by Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) across Delhi’s 70 Assembly constituencies by Tuesday. Chadha’s application was one among them.

Delhi’s electoral roll was frozen between June 16 and August 31 for the SIR exercise. Aam Aadmi Party’s Delhi state president Saurabh Bharadwaj alleged that the Draft Voter List released on August 31 had a total of 746 voters in the Rajendra Nagar Assembly constituency. However, in a later list, Raghav Chadha’s name was added at number 747. On September 3, Chadha’s name was deleted from Punjab’s draft roll. Then how did his name get included in Delhi voter’s list quickly? Bharadwaj has raised questions on the process of inclusion of his name in and sought clarifications from the Election Commission.

Raghav Chadha stated that he had fully followed all Election Commisssion rules and procedures. The AAP has forgotten the difference between the voter list and its party membership register Chadha said.
