BRICS 2026: Xi Jinping Delhi visit confirmed: Chinese President Xi Jinping is scheduled to visit India to attend BRICS summit 2026. He will visit India after 7 years. Chinese foreign minister has confirmed the news.
India will host 18th BRICS summit in Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam from 12 to 13 September. Sources said Xi Jinping will be in Delhi for 24 hours. On September 12, he is expected to arrive in Delhi at 12 noon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Jinping will first hold bilateral talks at Bharat Mandapam. Then they will participate in BRICS summit. On September 13, around 12 noon, Xi Jinping will leave for China. Relations between India and China froze after the 2020 Galwan Valley tensions. For nearly 6-7 years high-level visits were halted, and heavy military deployments remained on both sides of the border. However, last year, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited China, long-closed diplomatic channels reopened. Both Asian powers recognised that prolonged tensions served neither side’s interests.
President Xi Jinping’s visit to New Delhi is not merely a protocol visit; it serves three key strategic purposes:

Xi Jinping’s visit to Delhi appears to elevate India-China relations beyond mere tension control and toward a new chapter of practical cooperation. The heads of state of all 11 countries and 10 partner countries, alongside special outreach invitees will be present in Delhi for this summit.
